- 5-Stars because this unit has a Cateye adapter and fits on the Trek Top Fuel MTB. I would have gone with a Bontrager Blendr mount, but my bike didn\'t come with a compatible stem (go figure). I also wanted a K-Edge stem mount (Made in USA), but it doesn\'t appear that K-Edge makes or sells Cateye adapters for their mounts. This unit is made in China, is less expensive, might be lighter, and so far works well. I will say that the Cateye adapter only allows one mounting screw into the aluminum stem cap because of the adapter form factor, but it holds.
- There are two points that add to the steerer height. The underside of the cap itself is conical to allow for the threads needed to attach the garmin/light insert. This means that with most carbon compression plugs, you need a very large spacer to have enough depth to clear the cone. This shouldn\'t be a problem with regular starnuts.Secondly, the garmin/light insert itself is significantly thicker than the cap and protrudes up.The product works and the actual quality is fine, just a warning that it will add a significant amount to your steerer height and may mess with your bike fit.
- this is a little bit high from the stem since the shape of the top cap on the bottom is not flat which will affect the steerer tube when trying to compress
- Cheap way to get a Garmin mount of the mtb. I have a K-edge and it is nicer for sure, but if you have a few bikes I would go with these. Not as aesthetically pleasing, but works just fine.
- I was moving things around on my handlebar area and was having a hard time getting things laid out how I wanted.I was trying to find a good spot for my Cat Eye Strada.I came across this on an Amazon search. Extremely simple. My Strada is now located right on top of my stem with no issues. It took maybe 2 minutes to install. Very happy with the purchase.
