  • My first Garmin watch and I love it. I have been using Samsung smart watches and this is a huge upgrade. I have had the watch about a month. The battery life is over the top. I had a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and got about 2 days of use between charges. On my first two charges I got about 12 days of battery life per charge. This is with Always On Display off and wrist gesture on. This time of year my exercise is mainly walking/hiking. In the 12 day periods I averaged 17 miles which was about 5.7 hours of GPS time per charge. Battery life is my single most favorite part of this watch. I can\'t tell you how nice it is not to worry about charging the watch frequently. After a month it would be very difficult to go back to a watch which has to be charged frequently.Other things I like about the watch include:- For the size, this watch is very light. Significantly lighter than my Galaxy 4 Classic.- Screen is awesome. High res and very bright. No issues in sunlight.- Sapphire crystal.- Plenty of memory. Even with the all the maps preloaded 15.6 gb is available.- Maps are preloaded and include topo. Maps are very usable with high res screen.- The amount of detailed information you can get on the watch relating to exercise is amazing.- The phone app is great and you can get even more detailed information relating to you exercise.- The widgets on the watch are very helpful and detailed. With the GW4 I had to go to phone to get details.- Crazy amount of sport modes (which I will only use a fraction of).- Heart rate monitor is very accurate.- GPS is also very accurate and multi band really helps in hard to cover areas.- Routing and navigation features with maps are fantastic. There is not much I dislike about the watch besides the price. After a month of using it, the price does not bother me as much :) I do wish it had better lossless music file support. I have much of my music in FLAC format.
  • I mostly got the WearOS watches which are great for day to day use. But they drain down on the battery fast during outdoors like for Hiking, etc. They have limited GPS capability and no loaded maps and so is of no use with weak or no signal. Well, Apple watches have similar issues.I came across Garmin Fenix 6 at Costco and decided to look into it. I took time to understand their big list of garmin watches. I found that Epix Gen 2 is AMOLED version of Fenix 7. Marq Gen 2 is at the higher end of the EPIX Gen 2.I watched a few YT video reviews from folks like DC Rainmaker and Chase the Summit and I got convinced that I need this watch.I\'m not that young anymore and getting a brighter screen (AMOLED) is a good idea for me. Marq Gen 2 is too expensive and $500 range watches don\'t come with maps. Having maps loaded on the watch helps if the phone cannot sustain the battery or there is weak/none cellular connection. On the health side, I tried HR Monitor and it is very much accurate in comparison with Polar H10 chest strap. They are 1-2 bpm on or off. This watch gives nice data especially for Sleep, Stress, Body Battery etc. I compared sleep results with Withings Sleep Analytics (under bed sensor). They are close enough in final results. Also sleeping with this watch is not that bad. The strap is so soft that I don\'t even realize that I am wearing a watch.Stress metrics are also very helpful. (Rest, Low, Med, High). Waiting on HRV as it takes some time (weeks) to give more accurate data.I don\'t miss EKG functionality on this watch. I am in my mid 50\'s. So I decided to go with Kardia 6L (6 Leads vs Single Lead on watches) for better data, and, also if I go with their Care plan I can get additional analysis and results reviewed (I think 4) by Cardiologists, which is not bad for $100.00/yr.Negative Point: This watch won\'t integrate with Apple Health, Google Fit, Android Health Connect or various other health tools (other than Strava). This means you cannot exchange data from different sources/eco-systems with Garmin. But, the Garmin Connect app can collect a lot of data from the watch and also allows you to manually enter data for analysis. Additionally, data can be viewed from Web Portal which is a plus.I have started to like this watch, at least for now.
  • I\'ve had a couple Garmin fenix watches and loved them. Figured I\'d give the Epix a try with the OLED screen. It\'s amazing! It\'s got every feature of the fenix but with a much higher quality screen which allows even more features. Like like the best parts of a fenix and Apple Watch combined. Also, unlike an Apple Watch (or technically any non-Garmin watch) the battery lasts like a week!
  • I used Garmin, 5s, 6 pro, and Apple Watch 7. The Epix gen 2 is by far the best sports watch I have ever used. I know it is expensive but if you are an avid sports person and want a durable watch that tracks your health and workouts this is a must-have. The new resolution is so much better than any other Fenix watch even the new 7. Battery life is great and I can see the watch now without my readers due to the resolution. I am so happy with all the things this watch can do and the Garmin App works well too.
  • My husband has been eyeing this watch for a long time, and finally got it. He is an avid exerciser, and loves to track cycling, running, hiking and skiing. He has only had this watch for one week, and already loves it more than his Apple Watch. It tracks his sleep, he does not have to charge it all the time, and his favorite aspect is the percent of his energy that it calculates throughout the day. So he now knows when his body might need to go on a walk, or even take 15 minutes to breathe and relax. It is worth the money!
  • I’ve had health scares. Oxygen levels and blood pressure. This was my go to. The price is steep but after working with it in construction for 6 months without a screen protector, it’s tough as nails too ! I tried the fenix 7 … this has a better screen for sure.
  • I am glad I got this watch over the fenix 7 sapphire. The screen is beautiful and it hold a charge.
