- This was hands down the easiest glass cover (or any cover) install I\'ve ever done.The case it came in was even nice and protected with foam edges and stiff cardboard protecting the kit.Very simple instructions are on the back of the box it came in, and moist and dry cleaning cloths were included, along with a sticky lint remover (which I didn\'t use).Sticky guide tapes are included too, which really helped me put it on without taking the chance of touching the surface that was going onto the Edge\'s screen. A protective piece of plastic is over that side, which you remove when you are ready to install it.It quickly adhered with very little help from me, the edges had a little bubbling but it quickly went away.Someone mentioned they didn\'t like it because it doesn\'t go all of the way to the edge of the Edge - if it did it likely would get peeled off so there does have to be a millimeter of space around it, but I don\'t notice it.I put it on exactly so I can\'t say what it would have been like to have to reposition it, but with the guide stickies I think it could have been easily done if needed.The screen protector is undetectable. There is a slight glare that is there on the original Edge screen and for me it wasn\'t any worse with the screen protector.
- The protector was easy enough to install however it is slightly smaller than the screen of the 520 and its sides are not straight as the sides of the screen on the 520.I lined up one corner and one side of the protector with one corner and side of the screen and noticed that there was a slight gap (0.5-1.0mm) between the edge of the protector and the edge of the screen on the other side.I can probably try and re-apply the protector so that it is in the middle of the screen, resulting in a slightly smaller gap all round, instead of having the larger gap on one side, but that will require more fiddling around with it than I want at this point.
- I was wary about these tempered glass screen protectors for my Garmin 520, because so many reviews of other brands commented that they were hard or impossible to install, that the tolerances were too fine and they hung up on the white border of the screen, that air bubble formed underneath and could not be removed, etc. Well, on this version everything was perfect. Clear instructions, wet screen cleaning cloth, fry screen cleaning cloth, and a sticky dust remover. After removing the screen protector protector, if you know what I mean, I just dropped it on my Garmin, pressed from the center, and watched it adhere itself from the center to the edges with ZERO bubbling. It looks fantastic and does not diminish the visibility at all. Having shattered my previous Garmin without a screen protector, from a drop of only two feet, I am a lot more confident about the longevity of this one.
- My Garmin has seen a number of rides, several drops, but luckily no crashes. So far all has worked well. There has been no issues with reading the screen, so I would say it does the job.
- Easy to install. Fortunately haven’t tested the effectiveness yet as haven’t dropped the unit.
- Easy flawless installation. To those complaining it doesn’t go completely to the edge, I wouldn’t want it to. If it fit to the edge all the way around it would catch on things and you would have zero margin for error in installing it. The wipes very tiny, just use some lens wipes.
- These are very nice. They fit well and the display is still perfectly visible when out on a ride. Thank goodness for qty 4 as I ruined the first attempt by misaligning it and then finally dropping it onto the floor. But, before tossing that one into the trash, I grabbed a knife to see if I could use it to scratch the screen protector and I was unable to do so. Impressed. Good value.
- Just applied this to my Garmin edge 520 that I run on my mountain bike. It went on super easy with absolutely no bubbles at all. No issues reading the screen at all. I guess the true test will be if I ever go down hard to see how it holds up.
