This is so easy to set up and attach.
Didn’t fit my Garmin it was my fault ordered the wrong bracket will be returning it
It\'s funny how that little piece can really make the GPS alot less functional. When we discovered that we had lost that piece, we were more than quite irritated, especially during the trip when one of us had to hold the GPS while the other was looking at it. \"Ummm, could you hold it a little higher,\" \"No, not there, the sun is washing it out\" \"Could you turn up the volume, your hand is covering the speaker.\"You get the idea. We did not want to relive that annoying experience.However, a quick search on amazon took care of this. The piece came quickly and was an exact fit. Very snug. If there are any differences between this and the original Garmin piece, I can\'t tell what they are. This also has the metal ring around the ball joint which indicates to me that it will fit well for years to come.If you need it, at this price, it is a no brainer. Good luck.
When I lost my original Garmin bracket, I bought both an OEM and a third-party (a.k.a., El Cheapo) unit, so that I had a backup should I lose another one. It turns out that the Garmin unit was fine, but that the ball joint and overall grip on the unit felt a little weak -- but the cosmetics of the Garmin were wonderful and the plastic finish was great. The third-party unit -- a Chinese knockoff -- didn\'t look as lovely, because the plastic had little ripples on the surface, but the ball mount and grippers on the GPS unit were significantly more solid than the Garmin. Either one should work just fine, but I\'ve got the third-party on my unit right now.
After reading the negative reviews I was very apprehensive in purchasing this item. But, it was cheap enough for me to give it a try.I mounted it onto my Garmin GPS for fit. It was a bit tight, but seemed to hold my wee NUVI 1300 pretty good. It does seem a bit light-duty, so I didn\'t feel adventurous enough to put it into my truck (truck meaning 18 wheeler cab-over). Cab-overs seem to amplify each and every little bump, which is why the original speedometer doesn\'t work,( nor any of the replacements I\'ve used since). The GPS units work well for my old \"beater\" trucks, (if they can stand the \"beating\"!).I think I\'ll order a Garmin mount as a back up before giving this mount the acid test in my old KW. In the meantime, I\'ll mark it with 3 stars until I can make a more definitive appraisal.
Purchased this to use on a Garmin bean bag friction mount. Tried it on the Garmin suction cup windshield mount as well. It fits on both, but it is MUCH tighter than my existing bracket (to the point that you will need 2 hands to adjust it), but that may be because it\'s brand new. It fits the GPS unit (200W) just fine & you can\'t beat the price. I\'m glad I purchased it.I will update this review if, after use, I find that this product has any significant issues.

Got this piece last week after purchasing the friction dashboard cradle for my Nuvi 255T, and didn\'t want to mess around with switching the bracket between vehicles. It\'s compatible with my GPS but was rather difficult to snap on to the ball piece; it felt like I was going to break it. I guess it just needed some force. I would advise buyers to NOT have the GPS in the bracket when you\'re attaching this piece, otherwise your excessive force might damage it.
