InstaPick Color Sensor, Portable Color Matching Tool, Digital Pantone Libraries for Users, Mobile and Desktop Supported
- I was a little skeptical of this at first but there\'s been great support of it so far and the product seems to work as I was hoping. For the price its worth trying out before dropping a couple hundred of dollars.
- This is essential for any job that requires color selection, visualization and mission critical / color code-based projects. As a graphic designer, I\'m delighted to see that in addition to the usual Pantone code, I am also able to get HEX code for digital colors, CMYK for printing and further nuances such as uncoated / coated CMYK, etc.Surprisingly easy to download the app and connect with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and etc. seamlessly. Cool thing is it also has a feature to capture color within your computer screens digitally, instead of physically getting the colors from the cube. Was also able to give it to my young niece / nephew to play and draw with, while gaining a better sense of the world\'s colors and their drawing book.100% would recommend for professionals or parents with kids!
- El sensor es muy aproximado, para el precio que tiene vale la pena, el software en mac a veces falla.
- Perfect for designers and artists who require both quick basic or unique coloring around surrounding areas for inspired canvassing and drawings. Highly recommended for folks that do home designing or renovations, architects who need color visualization on their designs, marketing designs that need dynamic color representation, or just the basic dynamic coloring of art. It\'s been easy to use and I\'ve been able to integrate it with all my architectural designs, even spreadsheet presentations, and have my little nephew and nieces use it for their ipad coloring fun.
- This is a pretty cool little device. It does exactly what you\'d want it to - you scan a color and you get an accurate digital representation of that color. There\'s a PC and mobile app as well to keep track, so the uses are almost limitless. The device is tiny and easily portable as well. Basically, whatever you think you might be able to do with this in terms of design, color schemes, etc., you\'ll be able to do it, so for the right person, this is sort of a must-have.
- I work in auto design and we have some fancy pantone color spectrometers in use, but it\'s not quite as easy as this to use. This was very accurate when comparing next to the commercially rated equipment. The InstaPick is great and portable, but this needs an app to run and interface with if using remotely on the go and will cost an additional ~ $20 to get things working. Connectivity to Photoshop and Illustrator went without a hitch on my work computer and home PC.The most handy this was for is when I needed a good color match of UV degraded paint on exteriors that have faded. This has given me the best color reference to take to the local big box/ hardware store to get an appropriate color match, resulting in a much better match than when I take a flaked sample for them to analyze with their equipment! This is a great tool to have in you arsenal as a home decorator or contractor/ handyman to ensure you get a good blend/ color match when matching new work to previously painted work! Really great asset there as it took so much guesstimating out of the equation to get a good match for painting!
- Picking colors from things like books, paper, solid painted surfaces works well. Translucent surfaces don\'t work as well, the colors come out to dark consistently for us.Once it is all setup it is super easy to use and works consistently.Downloading the app is pretty sketchy, you have to go to a strange web address where a zip file magically downloads to your computer. Unzip and run. (no installation) Our computer had a firewall and anti malware setup and the app ran without issues but I can see windows throwing up one of those \"this software is sketchy\" warnings. The other part of the app...the one for cell phones and what not...cost and extra 19 bucks. It really should be included with the device especially for anyone shelling out around 100 bucks for the hardware in the first place. This is the reason this device is getting so many 4 star ratings. Obtaining the software is just plain sketchy. But once it is all setup it works well.Connecting via Bluetooth is easy. Just tell windows to connect to a new Bluetooth device and choose the insta_xxx (where xxx is a number) device. done...easy.The colors pop up in the app quickly too, again easy.So if you can get past the sketchy software, then this is a 5 star device. For me this is more of a 3 star device since I have to cough up an extra 20 bucks to use it for picking paint colors on the go for customers...who LOVE the ability to pick from all sorts of media.
