great product to convert what was a female NMEA 2000 cable to a male so I could connect it to my network. Careful cutting , stripping and connecting the wires is all that needs to be done. It\'s color coded and the accompanying directions made the job straight forward. Once plugged in and equipment turned on their was no adjustments needed. The network recognized the device and my engine and MFD started \"talking\" right away. Maretron makes quality equipment. I have also used their NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 converters successfully. Highly recommend.
Make sure you have a wire stripper that can handle very fine wire. Look at the layout carefully as it comes apart so you know how it goes back together. For me it assembled just fine and works great. No surprises.
