  • My previous purchase of a Garmin Product lasted for Years and I went all over the USA. This product is working well, hopefully it will also last for years. My Phone has gps but having a dedicated gps is good also. I was on a trip and one gps could not see an address but the other one could. Happy Travels.
  • I\'m a dinosaur and don\'t have many new electronics. Heck, I don\'t even have a cell phone.I bought this so I wouldn\'t have to look online for directions, print them out and try not to have a wreck while trying to read the directions or stop somewhere to ask (and yes, I am a man that will stop and ask instead of driving in circles). This is a great product. The only issue I have is that the way the roads are surveyed or whatever you call it scans a distance from the road so often when I am entering a parking lot my Garmin tells me that I am going the wrong way (even after an update), and if I can\'t tell that I am not really going the wrong way, I\'m too drunk to drive. :)I can be pretty hard with reviews, but if the above is the biggest issue I found with the product, it\'s well worth buying.
  • I bought used by mistake
  • We have owned two other Garmin devices over the years and we loved them. We used the first one literally until it died and we are still using the second one. So when the second device started showing sporadic errors after updates and during trips, we decided it was time for a new device. We ordered this unit, refurbished.First of all, let me say the hardware is fine - we had no problems with the refurb, the touchscreen is responsive, the voices clear, it connects as it should, etc. The big problem is that, in the interest of \"safety,\" Garmin has removed the side buttons on the map screen that allow you to search for gas and/or restaurants from the map screen. You now have to go into the sub-menus in order to find a gas station or a restaurant. How in the world is that safer? It used to be one touch on the \"gas station\" icon and there you have your list. Pick it and go. Now you have to go into the sub-menus and/or go back to the home screen and find the gas station button and then add it. And then once you have found where you want to go, you have to navigate back out of everything to get back to your active route and map. It is seriously ridiculous how difficult it is to find a gas station while driving now. Before you could do it in a few seconds and add it to your route. Now it is completely UN-safe because you have to scroll around to find what you want. (Garmin even puts up a warning that says you shouldn\'t do this while driving and makes you override the \"normal\" settings in order to do this task.)This was a deal breaker for us. We aren\'t going to use a device that got much LESS intuitive to use so we sent this one back. We\'ll use our ten year old Garmin until it dies and then we will switch to Google maps on our phone or something. There\'s no reason for us to spend money on a device that got much less easy to use because of the software. Had Garmin kept the software as it was, my review would easily have been five stars and we would still be satisfied Garmin customers. Because of the software changes, I cannot even recommend this product. We won\'t buy another one unless Garmin puts the software back the way it was (which is unlikely I\'m sure). You lost a once-satisfied customer, Garmin. Nice of you to screw up what used to be a great product.
  • It does it’s job. I have no complaints.
