- UPDATE 1/21/23: As I stated in the original review foam tape gives out eventually, but the tape on my most used phone gave out today in less than a month (see image). I am now trying foam tape labeled \"stickiest in the world from the makers of the original super glue.\"Original review after 3 days use: If you check out all the negative reviews on all the key finders you see the same complaints. I just started using mine 3 days ago so I can\'t comment on the #1 complaint- short battery life. This product claims 2 years if that receiver is used once a month. I will update when mine start giving out. Second is the things are just too large. That is true and you just have to get used to this on any of the finders at Amazon as far as I can tell. Really clunky when stuck to a phone or remote. Third is that the foam pads which make things even more clunky due to the thickness, don\'t stick for long. These are the same stickiness of any foam tape and all eventually fail. Fourth is that the beeper is not loud enough. Just like lumen claims on lights, these figures are almost always exaggerated. While they may actually be 80db if tested right at the speaker hole, that doesn\'t help when you have lost something and the receiver is in a coat pocket or down in couch cushions, etc. You have to be right on top of the thing to hear it at all in these muffled cases. Also, there is a design flaw that could easily be corrected. The flashing led and receiver number are on one side and the speaker hole is on the opposite, so if you stick the thing on, you can never use the flashing led for location. The id sticker that goes on the transmitter is so slick/impermeable you can\'t use a more permanent ink pen and even a permanent sharpie note rubs off. Other complaints include tough to change batteries using the little plastic tool and it could be better, but it\'s doable. As always there are the standard DOA, only XX number were working when unboxed, XX number failed after a short time, all were dead after XX months, etc. All mine worked, and I am using them all now, so I will report if/when they start going out. Obviously if \"Eight is NOT Enough\" you will have to find another set on different freqs. or expect duplicate beeping if you get 2 of these. The biggest problem may be that if you lose things easily you will probably lose the transmitter remote and if you can\'t find that, the entire system is worthless until you do. I sometimes misplace things away from home, so I would need to have the remote in the car as well as the home. The solution to this would be to only have a single spot in each to always have the remote or get 2 and place receivers on each transmitter and always have 1 of them in that never changing place at home. Another consideration is that you would have to change out batteries before they went dead or maximum frustration would set in when a receiver never sounded due to a dead battery. So when do you change? Impossible to know. I certainly wouldn\'t trust the 2 (or even 1 year) specified life. So all in all a lot of problems with all these finders, but most of them are inherent and this is better than nothing. My biggest complaint so far is that the alert is just not loud enough. I will update as always over the life of the product.
- I attached one to my debit card because I lost it so many times. Everyone that sees it says how it is such a great idea. My 4 yo son loses his remote daily so I also attached one to every remote in the home. Only complaint is that the sticky tape didn\'t work that well but that\'s nothing duck tape wouldn\'t take care of. 😉
- My husband was always losing his phone. He put one of those stickers on his phone & I make him leave the remote in a special place & he\'s not allowed to move it so we can always find the remote. Every time he\'s forgotten where he left his phone, one of us pushes the button that matches the button he put on his phone and it beeps loud enough so we search until we find his phone. We\'re both really happy with it. We haven\'t had to change batteries yet & we\'ve used it several times. You can use up to 8 with the remote but so far we only use one of them. For me, it was well worth the price.
- Works really well. My boyfriend loses his work keys all the time. So I bought these. Had to use them the next day after to find his keys. Lol. Sound was loud enough to locate them. Have them on all our sets of keys. Think I need to put on in his wallet too!
- I have used this to find both my phone and keys. For those of you having problems getting it to stick to your phone, I recommend Velcro. It’s not coming off my phone with the Velcro on it.
- Easy to use. Short battery life should come with extra batteries or better batteries
- This whole set up is very nice and easy to use. But… I think I went a little overboard. I’m only using three of the tiles! My two sets of keys and my book. I guess I’ll have to attach one to my TV remotes. Hey! I guess that’s enough to justify the multi-tiles!
- We lost or tv remote and decided if we were going to replace it that we had some other things that were important items that got moved around and we needed to know where they were at any moment so bought this item. Have placed on replacement remote, remote for other tv, laptop computer, bag that stores medication I use to fill weekly pill container. So we have 4 left. Need to think about what we seem to misplace and use other 4. So many things you could use this for especially since you can use a key ring or stick it to something that doesn’t have a place for a key ring.
