- I freaking love this thing! It allows me to bring up my home automation system and security cameras no matter where we are. I can also view the status of systems in our camper while towing it. I put in a SIM card from T-mobile (pre-paid data-only plan) and it works fine, even works as a mobile hotspot. It\'s only 4G, but I knew that going in so not deducting a star. The wifi receiver picks up my home\'s wifi signal, even tucked away in the center-console of my truck. For those that don\'t fully get the description; If you have Apple Carplay on your factory touchscreen sound system, you plug this box into one of the USB ports in your car, and then your car\'s touchscreen becomes basically an Android tablet, with access to pretty much anything on the full Google Play store. Not only that, but you also get wireless Apple Carplay (or Android Auto), so no more USB cable from the phone to the car.The touchscreen response is snappy, as good or better than the Sync 3 system in my Ford F-350 truck. You have a button to switch back and forth between the SYNC, Carplay, and the Android system whenever you want/need. There are a couple themes available. I haven\'t tried Netflix yet, but YouTube videos seem to work well. It doesn\'t impair or interfere with backup cameras or anything else factory-installed in the truck, it just adds so much more. The hotspot feature alone will make those long drives better for the kiddos. I noticed it has an small HDMI connector so I\'ll find the appropriate cable and see if it mirrors video output on the HDMI, or acts as a second display; that may be a great option for back-seat passengers if it works. It takes a minute or so to fully boot up, but realistically it\'s only a few seconds after SYNC completely starts up. Other than that there are no real issues, this thing tickles me when I use it like tech stuff did a long time ago when everything felt mysterious and magical. No bloat-ware to speak of, it\'s a pretty bare device. I did find a wifi network saved in it -probably from factory testing- but deleted that, and ran several virus scans and sniffed the traffic from the unit (I\'m in cyber security so it\'s a habit for me) but didn\'t see anything other than it pinging China for a software update (which I disabled).I have a question out to the seller, and if I get a response I\"ll post it here. I\'m looking for an OTG Ethernet adapter that will still pass power AND data through between the device and the factory stereo. Most of the ones I find (example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086SV2FK4) do ALMOST what I want, but don\'t pass data over the USB port, critical for the device to communicate with the factory stereo. I have a few DIY systems in the truck that have an Ethernet communications backbone and I would like to add this to it, but I will need Ethernet connectivity to do so. This edge-case will probably only apply to a very small fraction of the people that by this, so if you don\'t know what I\'m looking for - don\'t worry - it won\'t affect the quality of your experience at all.
- from advertising look as so you can download Netflix but it says device cannot support app
