- I had tried the \"name brand\" wireless AA adapter when it first came out, but had issues with it disconnecting. Cord was too short and hard and could not be replaced with a better cord. (This one you can unplug the USB C cord if you want a longer / different one, the provided cord is also a long braided cord). I have a 17 Ford Fusion, on this car when I would plug in the adapter, or used the corded connection, if I hit bumps or bumped the cord at all, pulled at my phone, etc. Android auto would disconnect. It was stressing me out fiddling with it while driving, so I returned it and went back to just using my car\'s factory bluetooth to listen to music. Now that a year or so has passed, and some generic choices have arrived, I was tempted to try again with this one. (Really wanted NAV maps dang it!) No disconnections at all so far using for over a week. Directions not great but I set up in just a few minutes, connected to Redmaple WIFI and Bluetooth in my phone settings and it worked right away. I have it hidden in my armrest where one of my USB connections is and still seems to have full signal. Takes a little time to come up, like right after my backup camera goes off backing out of my driveway, but always does appear. Happier with my second attempt especially since this one is about $40 less than what I paid last year. Finally think I have AA that actually works reliably after five years with this car! Was always kind of disappointed that it was not better sorted / easier to use in my car. Sorry for long review but hope it helps others with Fords or who had similar issues with other adapters!
- This works Android auto. Samsung s22+ and VW Atlas. On my phone, both wifi and bluetooth are connected . I can make calls with the android auto phone app OR VW native phone.
