- Traffic antenna does not work with Garmin drivesmart 61 as indicated in description. It works well as a power cable only. I’ve tried two different cables from this manufacturer, thinking the first one may have been defective, but the second one did not provide traffic data either.. I’m very disappointed

- This cable successfully gets rid of the obnoxious \"This cable doesn\'t support traffic\" warning shown for other cables, but the downward-facing cable connection prevents this charger from fitting well in mounts that hold the GPS on the dash directly.
- I went through 3 other brands of charging cables that did not charge my Garmin Nuvi 2589LMT. This one works. The others kept trying to connect to a computer for data transfer. It is due to the wiring of the Garmin. The reason I bought it is because it is about 8\" shorter then the Garmin cable. I was hoping it would be more flexible than the Gramin, but I don\'t think it will be. Have to try it in the winter. It is a lot less though.
- Purchased for Garmin Nuvi 2797, even though unit was listed as compatible. The connection was incompatible to unit. May be able to use for other USB devices however. Will put in box with other useless items purchased online.
- The Garmin Nuvi uses a modified USB pinout for charging. If you plug a standard mini USB cable into the Nuvi, it thinks you want to transfer data and it won\'t go into navigation mode without a fair amount of fuss. At least that\'s how mine works. When I bought this item, I didn\'t know whether or not it had the mod. And if it had the mod, it might be implemented in either the cable or the charger. But it was cheap, so I gave it a shot. I was pleased to learn that the mod is in the cable, which means I can use it with any charger, which is exactly what I did. I\'m using the cable from this set with a small two-output charger so that I can power my Nuvi and my phone simultaneously from my car\'s single receptacle. Because of the modified wiring that makes this cable work properly as a power cable, it can\'t be used to transfer data between the Nuvi and a computer, so you\'ll still need a standard cable for that.
- This is a Mini USB CHARGE ONLY cable with a right angle end. It\'s the cable you need for your Garmin if you are trying to use your GPS by plugging it into a USB source instead of using the supplied cigarette lighter adapter (other cables will put the GPS into data transfer mode). For me, the cig lighter usb adapter wasn\'t something I needed but I searched for a charge only usb cable with a right angle and this was the only one I could find. The cable is of good quality as it appears and should work well.The right angle is nice because it routes the cable downward and away from the GPS instead of straight back.I think they can get rid of the cig. lighter adapter and just sell the cable for a few bucks less, that would be great.Would recommend.
- This cord was exactly what we were looking for our GPS. We use it in our Toyota Sienna minivan; the 3-1/2 ft. length is sufficient but there is not much extra. Our power source is in the front center of the van and the cord is short enough that the only place for us to mount our GPS is in the rear view mirror vicinity--not a problem for us because that is normally where we like to have our GPS. However if someone likes it \"low\" and to the driver\'s left side, the length would be insufficient....just something to keep in mind when you buy a cord.
