  • As the title says, I really wanted to like this product. Sadly after a recent month long trial, it just failed me too many times to be of any value or use.For background: - I bought this unit because of the reviews both here and on YouTube. I did my homework before spending the $700. - I double checked each day that the software and the maps were up to date - I went step by step through the manual and made very specific setting adjustments to account for my size RV, route preferences, display settings, and use with the Garmin Drive app. - For comparison, I used both the GPS in my 2019 RV and Apple Maps app on my phone along side this Garmin unit. - I tested this Garmin unit on 6 legs of a 19 leg RV trip. Highway driving, country state routes, and city/town roads. All had disappointing results. My review from pretty bad to annoying. This is a GPS unit. It is especially designed for RV units. In that area it did follow my settings for types of roads and overall preference. However, often the unit reported as much a 138\' accuracy (or inaccuracy). The icon was often far off the side of the highway, even when there was no side roads to follow. This became a problem when at multiple off ramps or roadways and it was difficult to follow directions on screen. The screen information was either inaccurate or took a long time to update. From the pictures, the Garmin unit kept telling me to \"continue to route\" when I had been on it for 10 minutes. Additionally, the unit kept giving me crazy arrival times (ex. the 19 hours here). I had to double and triple check that I chose the right time to destination (ex Arrival in Hours vs. Arrival at Time) option and wasn\'t in 24H time). The side by side comparison of the Garmin with the Mercedes Sprinter GPS shows the difference in on screen information.I was never able to get the alerts to properly sync with the Garmin Drive app on my phone to get the latest traffic alerts and road conditions. The final straw was while in Maine, in an area I knew nothing about, the unit kept trying to get me to cross a large bay of water to get to my destination that was on a peninsula, 3 times. I could see from the graphics that this was not an option. Had I followed the directions I would have been on a dead end beach road.My last comment about this unit is the graphics are very outdated. All the road information is done with jagged vector lines (again see pictures). Today with all the map apps on phones we are accustomed to smooth turns in graphics. This might not seem like a show stopper, but when driving an RV on winding state roads, in new areas, it is helpful to me to know what is coming up ahead. On the plus side being able to store destinations is nice. The database of POI\'s seemed pretty robust.Sadly I bought this weeks before my trip to I get get it set up and fully understand how to use it. Now I am outside of the window to return it. Save yourself the money, there are apps as good or better at planning a route and displaying it on a map, that are available for an iPad or other device and will perform better than this unit performed for me.
  • Love the magnetic big screen. Easy to store and put back up
  • Great Garmin product that can be as easy or complicated to use as you want. A few minutes out of the box and it is ready to go. That\'s the easy part and it will work at that level if you like. BUT if you were to spend quality getting to learn the unit, you will get to experience the genius in this garmin gps. There are all sorts of neat functions. One in particular are the history channel tidbits. At any rate, like all computers, junk in equals junk out. Learn the unit and it will function well. Don\'t take the time to learn the unit and it will not perform to its full potential. Thus leaving you questioning if the amount spent on it was worth it.Mounting may be an issue. This is a HUGE screen and HUGE screens weigh quite a bit for magnets and suction cup mounts. In retrospect, I should have purchased the Garmin 790RV instead because of the smaller form factor.
  • I really like the size of the unit. It makes it very easy to see. Setup was pretty easy. Just a small learning curve. But pretty easy once i figured everything out. I would recommend this gps. I use it in my f150. I love that it takes into consideration when towing my camper. It has not let me down yet and has gotten my to my destination 100% of the time
  • This is a feature Rich environment. Oh my God this thing has got so much embedded in it it\'s going to take all summer to learn how to use it properly. You got to download Garmin drive program but that\'s all you need. I don\'t even think you have to do any kind of Bluetooth or Wi-Fi configuring to your phone it just works through the Garmin drive man it\'s very cool. I guess it wouldn\'t hurt to hook up the Wi-Fi independent of the Garmin drive program maybe the Bluetooth too don\'t know we got this sucker running pretty sweet. And then I got the backup cam. It was specific for this Garmin device I believe it was the 35. It operates on Wi-Fi short range which is perfect for us when you put it in reverse actually have to wait a minute for everything to connect up. When you put it back in the drive move forward or Park the camera goes off and your screen returns to map all by itself. Will you put it in reverse you wait a few seconds the camera takes over the screen all by itself. No thinking you don\'t even have to put your beer down.
  • It\'s easy to read and for an RV the beat I\'ve ever used love the large screen you can se at a glance and it tells as you go for turn construction work on road rest stops etc it doesn\'t have at the camp grounds on it yet hope to see more as we go with life time update I thinks it will get there I have about 8 gps and they do a job but worked as well as this one for my Rv
