- I thought I loved my Fitbit Surge, but once I switched you this Garmin watch I was sad for all the years I thought I was happy and never new what was out there..I\'ve had my watch since May 2021 and my thoughts are...PROS:-Comfortable, even comfortable to sleep with it on-Watch face and sports are customizable-Watch face is built down into a protective ring, even though I have a face cover it\'s never been damaged-Durable and rugged, countless times I\'ve smached the outer ring and zero damaged-Never, ever have I lost GPS single and GPS finds devices much faster than FitBit (compared to Surge and Charg)-When on certain modes, GPS map of where you have been is viewable on watch face - know if you\'ve been off trail and helps you find your way back-Love the moon phase and sun rise/set and barometric pressure widget options-water proof! Swim pool, lame, shower or doing dishes it\'s never a worry (I do take it off in hot tubs)-Garmin Connect App has nice features dashboard for sleep, steps, workout history
- Well made and charge lasts for days. Tough, looks good and shipping was quick.
- I bought this to replace my Garmin Forerunner that I\'ve had for a decade. I hadn\'t planned on purchasing a new smart watch but the strap broke on my Forerunner and I wasn\'t able to find a replacement. I bought the Instinct primarily for a running watch. I like the fact that it\'s waterproof and durable enough to be an everyday watch. Now I wear it all the time and can use it for mud runs and triathlons. I also enjoy geocaching and the ability to navigate to specific coordinates was a must. The fitness tracker features are also pretty cool. I love the built in heart rate monitor so I no longer need a separate chest strap. When you upload your data to the cloud you can choose to compete against other people online, who\'s walked more steps or been more active. You can also race yourself or try to beat someone elses time on a course thats been posted. I don\'t really use the survival features like tracking myself so I don\'t get lost in the woods but it\'s nice to know I have that capability. You can\'t listen to music or take a phone call with it but I wasn\'t interested in doing that anyway. The only drawback in my opinion is that I developed a rash after a week of using it.Apparently that\'s fairly common with devices of this type. I simply put a piece of clear tape over the charging port and the rash cleared up.
- This watch is great! I\'d advise that if you are planning to use this watches altimeter, it can be ~40 feet off of the actual elevation. The watch connects to the phone seamlessly & it even tracks how you slept!
- I got the refurbished version from Amazon. This came with the watch, charging cable and instructions. I would recommend getting the screen protector and the little rubber things that fit into the charging port (it’s located under the watch against your wrist). The battery lasts about a week or so with using the GPS function around an hour a day. If you do not use GPS, I think it would be reasonable to get 2+ weeks on a full charge. It offers a lot of exercise programs and helps you track progress across a wide range of activities. Very comfortable as well.
