The cable worked as expected.
The cable arived about a week before I was going to pick up the 1998 Moto Guzzi in Appleton Wis. I rode the bike to my sisters house near Chicago. I picked up some cable end eyelets at the auto parts store and attached them to the cable ends. I roughed the cable under the gas tank to the battery. I connected the two eyelets to the battery studs. The cable was an easy installation. I have used the same style Garmin cable on two other bikes for the last nine years without issue. The cable is well made with an in line fuse so no other wiring is needed. After mountain the ram mount I attached the Zimo Garmin and tested the wiring. All worked well. I made the 1,100 mile trip to Florida without a hitch.
you need this cable for the zumo mount. 4 pin connector that has 2 rubber ears on it to screw it to the mount so it won\'t vibrate loose. Garmin did their motorcycle vibration homework on this one. Price seems a little steep until you realize that is one connection that you\'ll never have to worry about or cause you grief miles from nowhere. Cable was plenty long enough to go from my handlebar mount under the gas tank to the battery box below and behind the seat on my VTX. Has it\'s own 2 amp fuse rubber incased in the wire lead. Took me longer to take the tank off then to wire up the Zumo. Good engineering Garmin! 5 stars on this one.
fast shipping and just the cable i needed no need to returned no feelings of being burned cable came quickly just as ordered.fits the gps and fits the bike (2011 ultra classic) great deal no long wait time.only way to hook up your zumo bracket to the bike all the extra cable is under the seat or tank out of site not like the cigarette lighter plug with the extra wire wrapped around the handle bars.a few small zip ties and a few minutes and it installs on the bike hardly no effort required for installation. would recommend to my friends
I purchased this Zumo for my husband\'s motorcycles and he ABSOLUTELY loves it. We had purchased a Garmin from BMW a few years ago and I was afraid he would not like the new one. You know how it is to get used to the screens and menus and then have to re-learn a new one. But, he is so happy with all the functions of the Zumo. We also purchased the ChatterBox BlueTooth communication and he used it with the Zumo on a recent ride. He was really impressed with how the Zumo interacted with the Blue Tooth. Money well spent.
Use this on my Garmin 550. I mount the cable on my motorcycles so easy to move gps between the bikes.
Needed replacement as my original cable had to be cut off previous bike. I bought two, to ease swapping the gps back and forth between two bikes. They came quickly and were exactly what I needed.
