I have this mounted on my Polaris Ranger for ice fishing and will purchase a 2nd for my aBoat. GPS accuracy and speed, heading sensor accuracy are all excellent and just what I was hoping for.
Increases accuracy to within a few feet of pin points.
I liked the directional feature on my Hummingbird as a result of this antenna, easy to install, easy to place
I have a one year old Humminbird 898 combo GPS depth finder unit on my boat. I also have the I Pilot option which will not work without the GPS and Lake master map card. My antenna stopped working after only 25 hours and I contacted Humminbird tech. They immediately replaced the GPS receiver. Another 10 or so hours later I had the same problem again and again got hold of tech support. They suggested I send in my antenna, transducer and instrument for testing and gave me a return number. I went back out fishing with my wife and her friend and the unit started working again. I checked on the price of another GPS receiver and Amazon beat everyone, Humminbird included. Now I have a spare. Lots of reviews on line showing I\'m not the only person experiencing this GPS receiver defect. I love my unit when it works.
I mounted this unit on the rear deck and turned on the Humminbird 798 hd si. All I can say is wow....Now the chart is easy to navigate, and I am certain as to which way the craft is heading. It\'s worth owning. An external antenna is the only way to go.Mounting is simple I secured mine to the rear deck behind my seat. Mounting is not critical, as the satellites are able to see the antenna from several hundred miles above you....It\'s not like they can\'t see over your shoulder.
Works as advertised. Installed up front with my Helix 12 SI. I now have a better gps signal and a stationary heading indicator. Follow the online video on how to program your Helix to use this external sensor in lieu of the internal sensor in the Helix head unit.
