• I live in the northern Great Plains where the summers are hot as Hell and the winters are some of the coldest on Earth, and this car mounting disc lasted me three full years! I had tried two other brands before (both used 3M adhesive, the first was semi-permanent, the second was easy removal permanent) and neither one would hold for more than a few seconds when mounted vertically in my car on a textured plastic surface.This one really did work though! I am super satisfied, and although it eventually failed after three years, I more than got my moneys worth and am buying another one right now. Don\'t trust the competition, they only work under the best conditions, this one will work in hot and cold places on rough surfaces, even when mounted vertically.Also important to note, when it finally did fail, there was no gunk or adhesive left on the surface of my vehicle, it remained attached to the disc so there was zero cleanup. Just make sure to clean the area first before applying and wait a day or two to let the adhesive set before attaching anything to it.
• I thought this would be the end-all solution to my dashboard mounts. Unfortunately, after a solid three years, the adhesive on the disc side failed and my iPhone and mount went tumbling to my car floor. Fortunately, the mount had an adhesive suction mount so I was able to put it back up securely, for now. I don\'t think it\'s worth $10 for a disc that lasts three years after which I\'ll have to buy adhesive pads to remount the disc.
• I purchased this to mount my rand mcnally gps in my semi. It stuck to my dash properly and held my gps for about 2 weeks. The adhesive came loose from the disc. I got back in my truck from a weekend off to find my gps laying on the floorboard. I was able to wipe the disc off and re-stick it to the adhesive. So far so good. About once a week I remove my gps and push down on the disc to make sure it stays stuck now.
• saved my ***,because the one that came with the car mount I ordered didn\'t work, but this worked great.
• I bought this to hold my magnetic iPhone holder. My dash is a bit curvy so the holder would not suction correctly to my dash. I bought this extra strength product so it would hold my iPhone holder and not come off! It has been going strong and has not come loose or anything. It\'s been over 100 degrees and this has not moved! I would suggest anyone having a problem keeping their devices suctioned to get one of these! It\'s PERFECT!
• I use these to mount the GPS low key and not on the windshield of the different company trucks I drive as an OTR big rig pilot and they are wonderful! Only problem is the WILL NOT come off if you mounted them properly so I had to oder more, until I get a permanent truck! Oh and get the big one because all suction cups will stick to them. You don\'t want to get a small one and your suction cup is bigger than it.
• I bought the Arkon Adhesive Disc to stick onto my car\'s dashboard for the purpose of attaching my Samsung Note 7\'s car mount.PROS: My smartphone\'s car mount -- its suction cup on its base -- always remained firmly attached to the Arkon Disc. That is a big plus.CONS: Unfortunately, the Arkon Disc did not remain stuck to my car dashboard after the first 30 days or so.Yes, I cleaned my car\'s dashboard area for the mount before attaching the disc. Yes, I chose a place on my dashboard that is relatively flat. So, \'external\' factors should not have adversely affected the disc\'s ability to remain attached to my dashboard.I think TEMPERATURE EXTREMES undermine the disc\'s adhesive, especially hot temperatures. It stuck during the coldest part of Winter...but when my area had a few unusually warm days in the high 70s....this darn disc fell off my dashboard...with the smartphone mount still attached to it!The VERDICT: Unless you want to use Super Glue to permanently attach the Arkon Disc to your dashboard, think twice about buying this Arkon Disc.
