  • The media could not be loaded.  I am very satisfied with the way that this unit integrates with the stock infotainment system without the need to cut, splice, or solder a single cable. I installed this on my 2016 Cadillac SRX and the result looks and feels like CarPlay was a factory feature. I don\'t know how CarPlay is invoked in other makes and models but for my car all I need to do is long-press the home button on the dashboard for about 2-3 seconds to switch between the stock infotainment system and CarPlay mode. The following are some things to note for perspective buyers and I won\'t treat them as \"cons\" as anyone wanting to do a retrofit like this should expect challenges regardless of which product they buy:I did have an issue after my installation. Siri would get invoked randomly and by itself about every 5-10 minutes. I tried everything that I could think of in the phone and car\'s settings to stop this from happening to no avail. Finally I emailed their support through the Amazon customer service portal and received a reply, they requested a video showing the problem, and within a couple of days they replied with a firmware file update (perhaps custom to my needs, maybe my unit came with an outdated version?) which took less than 2 minutes to flash. The problem seems to have been resolved for good. The written instructions that come with the unit are really really minimal. They will come with the information needed to access their installation video on YouTube which is really fast-paced without any narration or instructions, just background music as you watch the guy teach down a dashboard at 100mph. You will need to use pause and rewind and re-watch the video a dozen times if you are not used to doing this kind of stuff often (like me). Also, I recommend watching the installation videos on YouTube from competitor products which sadly are a lot easier to follow (but their product is 2x the price). After watching their video, the competitors\' videos, and reading the instructions many many times I had a decent understanding of how to install this unit.Lastly, the instructions state that \"if you want to have audio\" the aux audio cable will need to be connected into your aux input jack of the car. I am not sure why that is even in question. None of the videos or the instructions explain how to do that, probably because there is no easy answer. So keep that in mind. Where is your aux audio input jack and how are you going to run an audio cable from there to the newly installed module?Lastly, a tip: Once all of the harnesses were installed I reassembled the dash routing the ends of the harnesses as necessary so that they would end inside the glove compartment for easy access to the module. And boy was I glad I did, if not I would have had to tear down the dash all over again just to do the simple 2 minute firmware update mentioned above. As of now I am very happy with the unit both in what it cost and how it functions. If that were to change in the future and I suspect that it\'s a product defect I will come back and update this review.
  • Great product! Install was a little tricky but all works great!
