iBOLT 25mm / 1 inch Ball Composite Universal Marine Electronic Fish Finder Mounting Plate for Industry Standard Dual Ball Socket mounting arms
- Holes line up perfect. Multiple holes, product seems heavy duty enough.
- Used existing RAM mount already mounted to boat, replaced a Lowrance graph with a Humminbird, this part allowed that to be done very easily. Part is drilled for various graphs mounting holes to line up to.
- This ball plate mount works well and is compatible with RAM accessories. The AMP mount dimensions seem accurate. Note in the listing photo, it looks like the AMP dimensions are 30x38mm from edge of hole to edge of hole -- this is incorrect. Another photo correctly shows that the dimensions are 30 and 38mm center to center. The actual product has correct dimensions (center to center of holes).I would only recommend using this to mount to a device that needs the wide hole pattern on this plate. I wouldn\'t use this to bolt to a surface, as some people seem to be using this for. The reason being -- if you are mounting something heavy enough to necessitate this larger surface area, I can\'t imagine it will be held securely with a 1\" ball, and you would almost certainly need to use 1.5\" C sized balls (or larger). I guess you might need a larger plate like this if you are bolting to a really soft substrate, like foam board or something. Even in that case, I think you could just use a weight distribution plate (i.e. a thin sheet of rigid plastic, stainless steel, etc.) underneath a standard AMPs plate instead. The other situation I could think of where this might come in handy, is bridging a gap or an existing hole. But again, in that case I think the better solution would be to use another mounting plate to bridge the gap.For a device that requires wider mounting holes, though, this plate is perfect. It\'s not easy to add threads to a device like a fishfinder in custom locations to match a smaller AMPS plate, so this wide plate is really the best option there. However, if you have a large device with wide mounting holes like this, I would caution you to think about whether the weight is going to be OK with a 1\" ball. You might have to use 1.5\" ball hardware anyways in the end. I could be wrong, but I think the genuine RAM product line only uses mounting plates this wide with their C size balls (1.5\").
- This is a great addition to my nitro bass boat. I was looking for a way to mount an iPad as a second screen at the bow. The iPad mirrows and controls my lowrance chartplotter. This mount allows me to mount my iPad holder to the boat in a secure way.The screw layout is flexible. You can mount it in many different patterns. I added 4 stainless steel screws and was up and running in 5 minutes. The only thing I wish it had was a height adjustment. This get the Veal seal of approval and I would recommend it to people that I like.
- This mounts to both of my 9\" Garmin and Lowrance fish finders. I also have used this on my 10\" Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 102SV unit with no problems. I used the Ram 1\" clamp to attach to the boat gunnel and a medium length double socket arm in between. It hold tight even on choppy water.
- They\'ve asked about \"suction\" and \"Adhesion\". This mount doesn\'t come with any sort of adhesive or suction connection. It\'s a 1 inch ball on a plastic plate with a bunch of holes in it. The holes are positioned in a variety of places making it convenient to screw this to a surface. I imagine that you could add a double faced adhesive pad if you wanted to do that.... but it doesn\'t come with anything like that.In my opinion, there might be too many holes. I expect I will only use 4 at most. Not all 28 holes. Some of the holes are so close, it\'s hard to understand why you\'d have to screws so close.I imagine that if you\'re using this to mount something fairly heavy on a long extension arm, you might want to use more holes. But then, you might actually want to have an adhesive pad too.In any event, it\'s very strong. I expect it with hold up to a lot of stress. It is extruded plastic though.
- Looks well made. Plan is to use this to mount a fish finder on a boat project I am currently working on. It is large enough and has plenty of predrilled holes to use. Mad of a high impact plastic and standard 1 inch ram ball it should work fine with some existing ram mount pieces I have on hand.
