  • The Garmin technology and app are able to pair with all the top, and popular, fitness programs. Works very well - not great, but very well.
  • After owning an apple watch and a galaxy watch, I decided to go Garmin. I have determined I will continue to be a loyal customer. I saved a lot of money buying renewed, which I will do again. I would not have known this was renewed if I did not purchase this product myself. It looked and worked flawlessly.I love the GPS feature. It tracks my distance, pace, and heart rate all displayed while I\'m running. I love the fact it counts my steps and that the face is always on even when I\'m not working out. I work on an oncology unit and everything is about time and I constantly look at my watch. I don\'t have to continually flick my wrist hard to get the screen to come on. I love that the battery life for the way I use it is 5 days with regular use and not using GPS or music. That\'s with heart rate always on. I gave 3 stars to the sleep portion. I cannot say it is accurate or not because, well, I\'m trying to sleep, however I like that I can look at it as a guide to the quality. 3 stars because my quality of sleep lacks when I wear it. I am a belly sleeper and it isn\'t comfortable at all to sleep with because I lay on my arms. The watch is light weight and I love that I can download my music from Spotify and pair with my wireless earbuds to listen, leaving my phone at home. I haven\'t swam with the watch on but it\'s been great holding up to sweat and constant washing because I wash my hands religiously and then some while at work. I eneded up buying a screen protector after 5 days of wearing it because I noticed 3 little scratches. I plan on having this watch for some time so I figured it gets scratches that easy the way I wear it, I better get a screen protector. So not overly impressed with the glass. I have owned 2 others in a different brand and never had to have a protector on them but the glass may be better in other versions of the Garmin. However the screen protector I bought is not an issue and does not hinder the function or feel of the watch in any way.. Just a little bulk I don\'t even notice. I bought the 4s because of what I was going to use it for and it was slightly smaller. I have small hands and wrists so it was a perfect match. Overall yes I am 100% satisfied I made this purchase. I would 100% buy it again and still get renewed and yes I will 100% be recommending to others ( 5 of my coworkers are already going to buy one ;).
  • Update 2.Reduced to 4 stars. The battery life is still fine, but the battery meter is not consistent. I don\'t know how to describe it other than some days the battery \"uses\" 2% and other days it \"uses\" 25% or more. The battery life is still at the 6-7 day mark, but the indications dont show the gradual decrease expected. It is probably the most annoying issue with the watch. All other features work as expected still. Currently on day 6 with 26% remaining.Update 1.The watch is for the most part still performing as expected. My typical use can usually achieve 6-7 days of battery life. One item that i have noticed is that every now and then (once every 10ish days), the watch will eat through the battery. Dropping about 40% in a matter of hours. When i notice, restarting the watch stops the issue. Its an annoying, but not a deal breaker.Initial review:Battery life for this watch is as expected (4-5 days). With the watch+hr (no gps, music, pulse ox) it\'ll use 12-15% battery per day. Pulse ox during sleep (about 8 hours) burns an extra 10% per day. It is also very important that you turn off the seconds hand if you want a good battery life. Updating the screen every second eats the battery as well. I think the watch used about 5% battery in the first 3-4 hours before i turned of the seconds hand.I\'m sure some reviewers have gotten duds, but its likely that some of the battery life issues are either user error, or they set their expectations too high.As far as functionality, the step counter isnt great. The watch roughly counts double the steps I actually take. For the few workouts i\'ve done so far, remembering which button pauses/moves to the next set takes a minute. i know there are only two buttons but ive accidentally stopped the workout more times than i care to admit.I\'ve had to restart the watch a few times when trying to mess with the watch face settings. The touch functionality kept thinking i tapped the screen instead of me actually trying to scroll through the menu options.Gps took a minute to lock. You should be outside when you try to get gps signal if you hope to get a signal quickly. The gps has been very accurate for tracking my avtivitiesI dont think the sleep tracking function is what i expected. If you lie in bed for a while after you wake up, the watch will think you are in the light sleep stage still.
  • Major upgrade from my Fitbit, and mine arrived looking new. It\'s got a few quirks but mostly things i can tweak to make how i want if I invest the time. If anything, its only annoyance comes from sifting through too many features to use what i want. I\'m a tech nerd so no worries for me, but if you\'re not, read reviews and watch videos about how to do even the most basic customization to see if this is for you. Luckily, I also did not need to replace the after market band i bought for a Fitbit charge 3 (same size as 4 i think). a lot of those use quick release bands attached to the Fitbit end, and apparently are 18mm. Mine fit fine. BTW battery life could be a little better but I\'ll using the GPS and onboard music a lot. This also sucks as a sleep tracker but I can live without that. Fitbits are much better at this. The Garmin has some fancy pulse ox sleep tracking feature but it causes lights on the device while I\'m trying to sleep and the battery can\'t get through the night with it turned on anyway. Without it the device thinks i woke up hours before I did, and the manual editing function in the app doesn\'t work right. I haven\'t had issues with any other features.
