  • *I PAID FULL PRICE!!!!*I got this to track one of our cats. Laugh if you must, but this feline is a real..well...we\'ll say brat. I\'m constantly looking for her, afraid she has slipped out of the house. After a particularly emotional incident, my husband suggested something like this to keep track of her.*Setup*This experience wasn\'t a straight out of the box and it\'s working deal. At least not for me. I got the app, I registered, and I waited on their confirmation email. Which you apparently need to begin using the device. It was Friday afternoon.I waited.I waited. The email finally arrived Sunday morning, and by then it was expired. So I had to sign up for another account. This time it went quick. We were up and running in 5 minutes.*Function*I left the disconnect alarm running to see how it would do within our home. It seems we have just the right size/layout to track her without getting a ton of false alarms. If she gets out, we will know, but as long as she is inside, we seem to be fine. It does seem to go off if she *runs* through the house, so eventually I had to turn that feature off.The map is okay enough. It will show you the last time your item (or animal) was within the range of your phone but that\'s about it. If, I *did* lose our brat cat, it seems we could drive around and probably locate her that way. Although I would rather not test this feature out. I\'m sure you understand.I had been concerned about the size of the itrack, however it doesn\'t seem to have hindered her one bit. Initially she gave me a look that seemed to say \"idiot.\" But other than that, she\'s fine with it. She is an average size cat, I would say. Registering in the 8-10lb region.*Software*The software is decent, and although I expected it to run the battery on my phone down a lot faster - it really doesn\'t. Honestly, I don\'t notice a difference at all. One qualm I do have, is that if you \"turn off\" the software from your phone, you have to manually re-start the device with your phone close to it. That\'s a bit of a hassle, although I imagine it is to save battery life on the device itself. Which seems to hold up okay. I would have to update the review later on, but for now, it\'s been running for two days without a budge in the battery bar. This include the first day, which was a lot of testing.Overall, it\'s working fairly well for us now that we got past the initial confirmation mishap. I\'m pretty happy with the purchase!Update 10/10/2016: The iTrack unit is holding up well. Replaced the battery once. This has been a worthwhile purchase, and when/if this one craps out, we will happily purchase another.Update 03/16/17: You guys this thing is still holding up, and I\'ve replaced the batteries a total of 3-4 times in the last year. I\'m just really happy with how well it has held up and for the peace of mind that I get, it\'s worth it. I will likely grab another one for backup.
  • Has good options for \"trusted wifi\" and other nice features like triggering a photo. Too early to know about batteries.
  • The battery dies super fast ! I use this for my keys because I lay them down in random places it is loud just don’t know if it was my best option.
  • First off I must say its nice the seller actually contacts people to check on their satisfaction of this item and asks for a review. With that here is mine... So far I am pretty happy with the device in most cases. Its ring is reasonable loud and has several different frequencies while ringing so it can be heard in many environments including buried in the couch. It also has a flashing light so it can be seen while under a couch. It also is nice that I can page my phone even if its on silent and has many rings to choose from. It is also pretty customizable with several features that can be turned off such as if your item gets away from your phone automatically will page you.I haven\'t drowned It in water but I\'d say its splash resistant, not dunk it water proof. I\'d worry about what it was attached to getting wet first. The only thing I can say there needs to be an improvement on is the fact that when my phone dies as it often does, once its powered back up it will not reconnect unless you open the app again. I will never remember to always do that until its too late and have lost my keys. Then it will attempt to reconnect but if my keys etc are out of range it will just show its trying to reconnect. An even bigger problem is if I\'m trying to page my phone. I can\'t page it until I\'ve opened the app on the phone at least once after the phone has been powered on. So the best fix would be if it would automatically restart any time the phone was on. Ask permission for admin rights like other apps do such as my sound eq app. Then it will be able to run at startup.
