Garmin Charging Cradle for Forerunner 205 and 305

  • The only thing I dislike about my Garmin 205 is the proprietary aspect of charging it, since I needed a cradle, and couldn\'t just hook it via USB directly to the device. So I was somewhat annoyed when I discovered the cradle lost after I\'d moved three states, and had no idea where it had managed to go amongst the chaos. I tried running with a phone app, but after awhile, I bit the $20 bullet, and bought a new cradle, because really, nothing compares to accuracy when I\'m in training mode for a race. The cradle works perfectly, exactly as described. Fits my 205 without any issues, and charges and syncs just fine. You will need a USB cable to hook it up to the computer or charger, since the cradle doesn\'t come with one, but it takes a standard one that many phones or other devices use, so I had an extra cord lying around that I used. No big deal, since you could even pick one up at places like Wal-Mart cheaply if you don\'t have one around.
  • all good no complaints
  • I\'d lost my charging plate for my Garmin Forerunner which was annoying because it meant I thought I\'d have to replace the whole watch. However, this little beauty was a super inexpensive alternative. I had the cable and the plug, so I plugged it in and it was good to go. Good replacement, it might be nice buying a couple extra just to have around.
  • I puchased my Garmin 305 about four years ago and started having problems downloading my data and charging the watch. I didn\'t know if the charger was the issue or if the watch had worn out. Rather than investing a hefty sum of money in a new watch, I thought I would try a new charger first. So far I have had no issues charging my watch or downloading information. The product arrived within two days of purchase and I was ready to run out the door with my \'newly\' charged Garmin on day three! If you are having the same issues with your Garmin that I was having with mine, this small investment is well worth it! Happy running/biking/swimming!!!
  • I was ready to buy a new Garmin 305 watch because my old one was not charging properly. i saw this in Amazon\'s inventory an decided to splurge on the $20 it costs to try to avoid the major expenditure. I received it and it works perfectly. my wife, the runner is happy. I am not happy. now I have to find another gift for my wife.
  • For a while my Forerunner 305 was not charging or connecting with my computer. I noticed that by jiggling the 305 that it would start to charge and update but would stop with the next little giggle. Aha a short some place. Replaced the cable work for a day or two and them problem started again. Let\'s try the cradle and that did the trick. Cost $12 for the cradle and new GPS would have been $150 plus. Very happy I decided to get the cradle.
  • Lost my Garmin, gave it up for dead. Bought a new model. FOUND the lost one, wanted to get my data off it, and give it to a friend and of course, could not find the cradle. Got this one, and had to rubber band the German onto it to keep the connection. My old one used to snap on - this didn\'t do that at all. If this was going to be in use often, I\'d return this one to see if it is defective. Rubber bands work, though.
  • I bought this as a replacement for the original part that I got when I bought my Garmin Forerunner 305 years ago. I was having problem with recharging the watch. The new part fixed all the problems. I realize the 305 is somewhat behind the times, but I plan to use it until it dies. It is nice to know that Garmin is still providing parts, etc. for the 305.
