- My first review of this I was skeptical if this worked. It says in the ad that it only works if it has a clear view of the sky. But I put mine inside of my trailer so it’s hidden. At first it wasn’t tracking when it was parked so I thought it didn’t work. But we just took it on a 2.5 hour drive through the mountains and once it started moving, it was tracking the whole trip! So now I am pleasantly surprised that this tracking device works and I look forward to someone stealing my trailer again and catching them! I definitely did not want to put this on the roof for someone to see, it’s buried deep in the back of some cabinets so a thief is not going to find it before I find them!
- loaded 3 included batteries, tightened cover with 6 screws, put in car behind glove box, paid $15 online to activate for 1 month (autopay if not cancelled), drive around block to activate in 10 minutes, ; violla! car is tracked perfectly. there are 2 map screens in the app; one for current location (pretty much real time but they don\'t make that claim due to LTE cell coverage requirement), and the historical tracking map attached to review).Note; The case looks like the dry rubber seal would be perfectly waterproof with some silicone sealer smeared on it (i have used clear electrical silicone grease on these rubber seals on other products with great success).
- I am in the high performance boating business and thieves go straight for the battery and look for the wire to cut and then follow the wire to the gps and toss it overboard or on the pavement and they are on their way. This product allows you to hide the unit so well it could take an hour or more to find if ever at all. Batteries last for months and the accuracy is great. I have tried many many units and by far this is my favorite. I bought a gabby for my kids car, battery life is not as good but it is very easy to hide.
- Overall seems like a sturdy product. Took overnight for it to register on the app after activation, which was to be expected. Battery cover screws were a bit tight to get in, maybe would be better with a torx drive screw. Only concern is the box and listing say Oyster2 5G but the actually label on the tracker says 4G.
- I bought this to track my moving van, which meant attaching it to a china hutch that was packed inside the trailer. Although the unit got excellent cell service, it had a hard time getting a GPS signal, so I wasn\'t really able to tell where the van was most of the time (it would have been nice if the unit could have give approximate location based on cell location as a back up...). However, tech support was super helpful in \"tuning\" the unit to maximize battery life and signal acquisition. I imagine if I had attached the tracker somewhere on the exterior of the van it would have worked as described.
- Works great. I installed it in my travel trailer (since my previous trailer was stolen) and forgot to turn off the alerts when I took it on a trip. I hit the road and my phone blew up with alerts saying that my trailer had moved and left the home area. I\'m confident that if someone tries to steal this trailer I will know immediately.
- Trailer was stolen!Fantastic tracker. Installed on a utility trailer. Alerted me immediately when the trailer began moving and was able to go directly to where the thieves had taken it. Got police there and gave them the data from the tracker so they were able to issue search warrants for two different addresses in addition to recovering my trailer. Easily worth the money!
- This gives so much peace of mind keeping tabs on a teenage grandchild. The customer assistance was amazing I live in a small town where coverage is not great but the technician did the research and was able to get great service for us.
