Garmin Fenix 5 - Slate Gray with Black Band (Renewed)

  • I started with this older model as I wasn\'t sure I wanted to spend big bucks on a watch or fitness tracker. This watch was great for me and I have since upgraded to a much newer model. This watch did a great job of tracking my workouts and was pretty accurate when I was running distance. It would give a different distance to some of the newer Fenix devices my workout partners had, but it was very close. Not sure which one\'s were the inaccurate ones. The Garmin software is nice and easy to use. Setting up custom workouts is simple and easy to transfer to the watch. These are very sturdy watches. The face is still scratch free. The bezel and sides have a little bit of wear on them, but It was worn 24/7. Used it during ocean swims and beach workouts and it handled the sale and sand very well.I was a bit concerned about the band on it, but it was very sturdy. I actually think this band is better than the new one I got on my new Fenix 6 Pro.
  • The media could not be loaded.  Tremendous battery life, even while using tracking functions!
  • These refurbs are older models. They arrive looking brand new. Somewhat complicated to setup and you will need to go to the Garmin website for a complete manual. The built in watch faces are crap. Be aware that none of the built in watch faces display the hear rate. If you want to see heart rate in a watch face you need to add one that will display the heart rate. I added one for $3.50 from the Garmin iQ connect store. Personally I like to see heart rate while running if that\'s not your thing the built in watch faces will work. But there are much better ones you can purchase. The watch is big and heavy. While jogging best to wear it tight so it does not slide up on down on your wrist. The heart rate feature is most accurate when you are sitting still for about 5 minutes. For the price its a good deal compared to the newer models selling for $500 up to $800 bucks.
  • The renewed version doesn’t have quite the battery life touted by Garmin on new models but still not bad at all. The app Garmin Connect is awesome and even includes coaching programs. HR measurements well it is a wrist optical like an Apple Watch . It is what it is. GPS I found is ok but I have since learned that unless you get into highly expensive gps products on par with misspelling none are perfect. It is a sports watch for sure it’s not an Apple Watch so I’m not trying to talk or text on it but it has so many different activity settings it’s crazy. I mainly got it for swim tracking and I don’t have to put it into a wet mode. So I like the watch. For the price difference between new and renewed I think it’s a good value.
  • I absolutely love this watch. It\'s tough, amazing battery life, tons of features. However I wish I had gotten the 5X sapphire for the maps and spotify. But besides that I haven\'t found a single feature I don\'t like. I\'m not a huge exercise person, however I do take my dogs on walks a few times a week I go kayak fishing and I go out on my boat. This watch tracks all of those activities and more. This watch is making me want to buy a bike to ride that and get into better shape. My fiancé has a Samsung active 2 and she\'s jealous of my watch and the features and is going to buy a Garmin on black friday. I can\'t help but recommend this watch. My only issues are the app to me feels kinda clunky and rough around the edges. And sometimes the compass says I\'m facing east when I\'m facing north which after a quick re-calibration is back to be being just about spot on.
  • Estoy muy contento con el producto. Llegó en las mejores condiciones. Es un producto nuevo.
  • This a great watch, with a really good battery life and activity tracking. GPS signal took about a minute to connect, whereas an Apple Watch immediately connects to GPS. I did return the watch as it did not fit me well. I have small wrists and with the size and weight of the watch face, it would not stay in the middle of my wrist and would rotate to the side. Would recommend the watch for someone with large wrists or someone who is okay with giving up some comfortable. I am going to the Garmin 245 or 745, which are both smaller and lighter.
